Thank you for your interest in the practice/demo room at Ground Floor Guitar. The professional back line listed below is included in the rental fee. Feel free to bring your own gear as well. Please note the practice room/mixer channels are dialed in for our gear. We aim to create a plug an play environment to maximize time. If you choose to bring your gear, it will take some to time to tweak the mixing board to dial in your gears sound. We have professional, tour grade gear that is very versatile. Our only request is that you treat it and respect it as your own.

All monitoring in the room is done through headphones. You control your mix through a Behringer PM16 personal mixer that has individual channels labeled. For instance, if you’re the singer and you’d like to hear more of your voice, you’ll simply turn the knob on the mixer to the desired volume. You can do this with each of the 16 channels. This is very similar to wearing IEM’s or being in a studio or radio station. The room is isolated several ways to control volume. The drums are in a clearsonic drum iso booth and the amps are in clear sonic baffles.

All practices can be recorded digitally through the board as all the channels are mic’d or di’d. A usb thumb drive can be inserted right into the board for a two track recording. This file can be opened in most audio players. A computer can also be patched directly into the mixing board to record all 16 channels. This would give you the opportunity to mix the tracks. It’s important to note that this is not a professional recording studio. You can certainly make a very good sounding demo/reference. However, we want to be clear that our practice room is not a studio. Many bands like to record their practices to hear back what they’ve been working on. Practicing this way will allow individual members to really hear themselves and what they’re playing. It also helps with ear fatigue. Most people who have practiced in a very loud room for an extended period have suffered from this.
